Prague TPM Conference Report
Gerry O'Neill of Manufacturing Solutions presented case studies of TPM in the food industry to senior executives from Diageo, Heineken and Unilever Foods comparing the approach of small to medium enterprises to the multi national. The role of Invest NI was highlighted as the main reason why small companies were able to access Continuous Improvement training and faciitation and this one of the reasons why they were successful.

Red Tape Reform Must be Backed by Culture Change say Business Leaders
A wholesale culture change in both Government and Parliament is required if the latest attempts to cut back on red tape are to prove effective, the Institute of Directors (IoD) warned.

Speaking ahead of the Second Reading of the Legislative and Regulatory Reform Bill on Thursday 9 February, the IoD’s Director General, Miles Templeman, said:

“Stronger powers to overhaul unwieldy laws will be welcomed by business, but they must be accompanied by a new attitude in both Whitehall and Westminster. More...

Thanks a Million- B-Lean belfast city council

Heartsine Technologies in Belfast has a million reasons to be grateful to Belfast City Council as it has increased throughput by over £1,000,000 due to the improvements put in place following their participation on the B-Lean programme delivered by Manufacturing Solutions.

Their problem was a huge demand in the marketplace but production issues meant they were unable to fulfil all the orders. Thanks to the Lean Manufacturing methods introduced following training and guidance from Manufacturing Solutions they were able to significantly increase their output while maintaining the excellent quality their customers had come to expect.
